Haole Boy Brewing Company
Justin is a home brewer who needed a label for the beer he bottled for friends and family. He has an instinctual love of Hawaii and he had already thought of the name for his beer, so I needed to design the identity and the label for him. My ideas centered on tribal style and flower style since his brews were to include Hawaiian flavors. He loves getting tattoos so that is where the tribal tattoo ideas came from. This was really the perfect match between client and designer when it came to Hawaiiana. In the end, I created a calligraphic main logo type and encircled it with the tribal tattoo type design. The alternate identity and label is hydrangeas behind the calligraphic logo type.
